Exploring “Messy” Conflict in Relationships

Join Living Fellowship Church Sundays at 10 AM.

Pastoral Counselor, Caleb Martin, will be joining us this Sunday, 5/15 for week four of our Messy series together. He’ll be exploring the messiness of conflict in our relationships. Here’s a short message from Caleb, explaining the heart of his message:

In Ben Rector’s recent song, “Heroes,” he explains that part of why life is messy is because people hurt us along the way. He longs for life back when he was young, before he knew how hurtful the world could be:

“I miss back when the world was small, and we had all the answers

I miss how it was when we were young

I miss back before I understood all the ways that life would break your heart

Before I knew that's what they called growing up.”

All of us can sing those lines with conviction. We’ve all experienced suffering in various forms. We all know the pain of a broken heart.

But the question is - how do we respond to this brokenness and hurt? What does God say about dealing with our pain, responding to others appropriately, and forgiveness? And, if we’re honest, does God truly care about our broken hearts, at this very moment?

We will explore how God does care about our broken hearts, and gives us clear answers to these questions. But clear does not mean simple or simplistic. Responding to hard relationships is sometimes like navigating an unfamiliar forest with only a compass in hand.

Together we will explore how Jesus engages our broken hearts and leads us to honestly engage our hurt, to forgive fully from the heart, and to trust that he will make it all right one day.

We hope you will join us!
