July 2nd, 2023
This Sunday we are worshiping as a scattered church, without one singular meeting place. Please feel free to gather with other families connected with LFC and your neighbors. We will regain access to Preston Ridge Community Center on July 9th at 10AM.
A Few Suggestions
Set a time and let your family know when you will begin.
Light a candle. This may help to acknowledge that your family is doing something special. You can use this call and response with children:
”What does this candle represent?”
”The Light of the World.”
”And who is the Light of the World?”“Jesus.”
Read the Scriptures out loud. For children who aren’t yet reading, break the Apostles Creed into chunks and ask them to repeat after you.
Sing joyfully together!
Give grace to yourself and to one another.
Opening Scripture
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

All creatures of our God and king
Lift up your voices and with us sing
Alleluia, alleluia
Thou burning with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,
Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along
Alleluia, alleluia
Thou rising morn in praise rejoice
Ye light of evening find a voice
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,
Thou flowing water pure and clear
Make music for thy Lord to hear
Alleluia, alleluia
Thou fire so masterful and bright
That gives to man both warmth and light
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,
Confession
Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
PRAY TOGETHER
-
Pray the Lord would quickly provide a new location for us to worship.
Pray that we would become a church known for loving our neighbors.
-
Pray for needs in your family, and known needs in our fellowship.
-
Pray the Lord’s Kingdom would come throughout the earth as it is in heaven.

This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
his hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father's world,
the birds their carols raise,
the morning light, the lily white,
declare their maker's praise.
This is my Father's world:
he shines in all that's fair;
in the rustling grass I hear him pass;
he speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my father's world!
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died,
shall be satisfied,
And earth and heav'n be one.
This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!
Almighty and everlasting God, you made the universe with
all its marvelous order, its atoms, worlds, and galaxies, and
the infinite complexity of living creatures: Grant that, as we
probe the mysteries of your creation, we may come to know
you more truly, and more surely fulfill our role in your
eternal purpose; in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
CLOSING
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

Pull out some photographs from some of the most amazing things you and your family have seen together in nature. Take turns talking about how you felt and what you thought about when you saw this part of creation.
Ask: I wonder what kind of God creates something like this? What do you think this tells us about what God is like?
Say: David thought it was amazing that a God who created such wonderful things would care so much about him. He felt very small when he looked at creation. But he felt very important when he thought about how God thought about him. It made him worship God.
Ask: What are some ways that you can worship God? What are some ways that our family can worship God together?
