January 16th Launch Team Worship
Christ has found us in the Desert of Death, Not the Garden of Improvement; and in the power of Jesus’s resurrection, he has put us on his shoulders rejoicing and brings us home.
Robert Farrar Capon
The Lost Sheep by Sir John Everett Millais.
This morning, as we are unable to meet together in person, we wanted to offer you the opportunity to connect as a family in worship together.
This guide is designed for you to participate in worship together as a family. Here are a few tips:
Set a time and let your family know when you will begin.
Light a candle. This may help to acknowledge that your family is doing something special. You can use this call and response with children:
”What does this candle represent?”
”The Light of the World.”
”And who is the Light of the World?”“Jesus.”
Read the Scriptures out loud. For children who aren’t yet reading, break the Apostles Creed into chunks and ask them to repeat after you.
Sing joyfully together!
Give grace to yourself and to one another.
Here is the Children’s lesson that was planed for Sunday. Please feel free to use it with your family.
Opening Scripture
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” —Psalm 118:24

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
Pray Together
This is an opportunity for you to pray for the specific things in which you long for Jesus to show up and work. The suggestions are vague, so you may ask each other how you would like to pray in these three categories.
-
Pray for one or two things that you and your family long to see made new in your community, your neighborhood or the world.
-
Pray that God would continue to grow our fellowship into an environment of grace that seeks and welcomes all in Christ.
-
Pray for one another.
Read Together
Luke 15 : 1 - 10
15 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
3 So he told them this parable: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ 10 Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”.
The Welcome Of Christ
At this moment of planting Living Fellowship Church, there are two things that must remain critical if we are to throw our anchor into the community. We must look to Jesus to learn how we are to love our community and we must remain attached to Him.

Verse 1
What love could remember, no wrongs we have done
Omniscient, all-knowing, He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
Verse 2
What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
Verse 3
What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
Chorus
Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness
New every morn’
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
Closing Scripture
The God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do God’s will, working among us that which is pleasing in God’s sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever! —Hebrews 13:20-21
